NOTE: Disable 3d sound effects. find USB Sound Devices Creative Labs MP3 USB (model number SB0270) - Set the volume to 50% Good low-frequency response. find Starlogic USB 5.1 - Set the Shakti Volume Control to 83.5 % find TELEX USB P- 500 - Set the Shakti Volume Control to 85 % - Be careful with Telex audio - the left and right channels are sometimes swapped. find TELEX USB P- 800 - Set the Shakti Volume Control to 46 % - Be careful with Telex audio - the left and right channels are sometimes swapped. find "Key" type USB sound device. Set the Shakti Volume Control to 90%. No treble/bass. Does not support loopback. find Onboard Sound Devices C-Media Audio playback - Set the Shakti Volume Control to 60% The C-Media playback is usually (always?) on-board sound. If you have one of these, your sound plugs on the back of your computer won't be on a card, but will be near the other ports. You cannot replace your sound card in this case, but you can add another card, and select your new one as the default sound device using 'multimedia' in the control panel. Laptop Sound Cards Conexant AMC Audio (AC-97) - Set the Shakti Volume Control to 50 % XpressAudio 16-bit - Set the Shakti Volume Control to 25 % - Does not support loopback. Good low-frequency response. Set the Shakti Volume Control to 2.5% -or- Two and One Half Percent with bass to the maximum ISA (Legacy) Sound Devices Sound Blaster AWE 64 - Set the Shakti Volume Control to 4% Has treble/bass control Yamaha Audio (ISA) - You must set the wave balance for the windows sound control panel to the maximum setting ( 100%) and adjust the master control to 7% using the meter in this software. That means you must open BOTH to do the job. Has Treble/Bass. This sound card has an unusual configuration. The wave slider in the Shakti meter controls the MIDI volume instead of the wave balance, so don't use it for this card.
